Northumberland - Seahouses & Beadnell - 12th May 2014

Little Tern

When we arrived in Seahouses, the first birds we saw were the Common Eider (or Cuddy Ducks). Their calls always remind me of Frankie Howard with a soft "ah-oo-oh"! The second bird was another year tick - Red Throated Diver, and guess who didn't have a camera with him? !!! A walk around Beadnell Bay in the hope of seeing (departed) Lesser Yellow Legs turned up another year tick in the form of Little Tern. Not surprising really with a protected colony on Long Nanny.
