RSPB Bempton Cliffs - 7th May 2017

Gannets Displaying

My call to the cliffs this morning was loud and forceful - courtesy of a very strong northerly wind that did it's best to blow everyone back to the visitor centre and cool rapidly the brave souls on the viewpoints! Rewards for those braving the wind was a large number of viewable Puffins on the cliffs and the entertaining sight of birds "hanging" on the wind. Many of the birds are now on eggs including Gannets, Razorbills, Guillemots and Puffins, others continue with necessary nest building and repairs.

Glorious Gannets

A small stone or ball of mud was a prize possession for this Gannet
