Bempton Circular!

Barn Owl

A fine day was forecast so I decided to take a walk around Bempton and Buckton. Leaving home in Bempton, through Buckton, along Hoddy Cows Lane to Buckton Cliffs, along Bempton Cliffs and back home. My hope was for some spring migrants, but alas, I was to be disappointed! Equally disappointing, when I reached the cliffs all the Auks had departed back to the sea but could be seen on the water and in flight! Even the weather turned grey with a cool blow! A bird list is added at the end of this blog post but best included a Barn Owl quartering around Buckton pond; a Curlew in the field neighbouring Buckton pond; a Buzzard over the Heligoland trap; a Peregrine taunting the Kittiwakes on Buckton cliffs; two Shelduck flying over RAF Bempton and the blue morph Fulmar that has been around Bartlett Nab c4weeks. Several year4 Gannets could be seen plus one year1/2.
