YWT North Cave Wetlands

Avocets

With Abigail home from university and able to dog sit, Heather and I headed off for pastures new at the YWT reserve of North Cave Wetlands. Our aim was to touch base with some of the birds not often seen on the coastal cliffs! It was pleasing to "tick" Shoveler, Avocet, Little Ringed Plover, Gadwall, Great Crested Grebe, Little Egret, Willow Warbler, Ruff and Dabchick - all being year ticks. A good walk around the reserve set us up to enjoy a value for money, breakfast bap, at the Wild Bird Cafe! Rumour has it that the cafe is closing - let's hope not!

Nice set Kevin, including the bit of old bull. I see your patch, Bempton Cliffs, got a mention in the RSPB mag. this month.
