Pastures New - Spurn - 5th October 2014

House Sparrows

Until today, I had not visited Spurn, so was extremely grateful to receive the offer a seat on the mini bus trip, organised by the the local Coventry and Warwickshire RSPB Group. The day was extremely pleasant and the company second to none. There was, however, one problem - the lack of birds! I had hoped to receive the "Holy Grail" in this area of notable rarities with life and year ticks. No life ticks but three year ticks in the form of Great Skua, Arctic Skua and juvenile Black Tern. Everything was distant, very distant, so it was difficult to obtain many images! The result of this is common birds which can be taken just about anywhere! My impressions of Spurn = magic and great to be in the fresh sea air! Will I return? = probably!
