Weeting Heath - 24th June 2014

Stone Curlew

A decision was made some months ago to start tent camping again after a break of ten years! A new tent was purchased with all the other camping essentials, and three nights were booked on Dunwich Heath in Suffolk. It was decided to pop in at Weeting Heath (NWT) en-route to add Stone Curlew to the year list. Apparently, c15 birds were present with three caring for young. Problem with Weeting Heath (apart from the cost to enter) is the heat haze and distance away from the hides that the birds prefer! Any way, a few record images were obtained, together with one of the Mistle Thrushes.
