Lake Vyrnwy - 18th May 2014

Having returned from Northumberland yesterday, it was off to Lake Vyrnwy in Wales with The Coventry & Warwickshire RSPB group. An excellent journey, great scenery, good company and some good birds. Unfortunately for me, I was always in the wrong place at the wrong time and missed some excellent photographic opportunities! I wonder if any of the group spotted any Siskin near the visitor centre? LOL!

At one point, debate ensued about whether this was Marsh Tit or Willow Tit. The white patch on the lower mandible suggests Marsh Tit!

One of three Common Sandpipers seen today, about to enjoy lunch!

Pied Flycatcher

Only distant views today, for me, of year ticks - Raven, Dipper and Tree Pipit!
