Draycote Water

A brief morning visit to Draycote Water with Heather, to get her a few year ticks, saw us walking to Toft Shallows and back. At least the sun shone and it was pleasantly warm. As we were passing the boat trailer park below Farborough Bank, a male Whinchat showed distantly and into direct sunlight! At the time, I did not realise that this was my first Whinchat in Warwickshire! Unfortunately, it showed well in bins and scope but failed to come close enough for the camera.

There was very little else of note, other than five Wheatear on Farborough Bank. Very little duck numbers but a female Goldeneye was feeding well in Toft Bay. A list of sightings can be found at the end of this post.

Pied Wagtail

Song Thrush

Lovely photos again Kevin both here and on the posts since my last visit. Well done on the Whinchat, I've never seen one.
