Daventry Country Park - Pied Flycatcher (with supporting cast)!

Having spent the morning at Marsh Lane, I arrived home to be alerted to the presence of a Pied Flycatcher, showing well, at Daventry Country Park! However, it was 1500 before I was on my way, fingers crossed that it would still be showing well. I made my way to the visitor centre, where the bird had been reported, and joined a couple of other birders. News was not good, and none had seen it. We spread out along the dam and it was not long before the bird was located, further along the dam in the hedgerows at its base. A very flighty bird, only staying still for brief periods. The Pied Flycatcher was an excellent local bird to end the day on, moreso with its supporting cast of Blackcap, Willow Warbler and very elusive female Common Redstart.
