Pastures New - Frampton Marsh & Freiston Shore, 15th April 2011

Corn Bunting

The last time I was in Lincolnshire was about thirty years ago when I cycled from Rugby to participate in the Leicester to Skegness clock towers cycle ride! This week, Heather and Abigail were attending the Spring Harvest Church Event at Butlins in Skegness, so the opportunity to explore the coastal areas could not be missed. The weather was excellent but the heat haze and distance of most birds, made photography a real challenge and most birds could only be observed!

I had heard a lot about Frampton Marsh and this was to be my first port of call followed by Freiston Shore.

Superb corn bunting shots - they can be quite accommodating can't they? And as for the crossbills, I am green with envy...

Cheers, Pete - the CB are obviously used to people! The Crossbills at Gibraltar were great to see but devils to capture!
